130711-M-OH054-158 PACIFIC OCEAN ABOARD USS HARPERS FERRY (LSD-49) – Cpl. Matthew D. Wagoner, a scout sniper with Scout Sniper Platoon, Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Johnstown Ohio native, looks for suspicious activity through a scope mounted on his M110 SASS Rifle during Small Craft Action Team (SCAT) training as part of Composite Training Unit Exercise aboard USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49, July 11, 2013. The purpose of this drill was to utilize Navy and Marine Corps personnel to maintain a defensive posture against possible threats from small boats. Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMTUEX) is scenario driven exercise aimed at integrating the 13th MEU and the ships of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group through simulated real-world operational events.
