DJIBOUTI, AFRICA (Nov. 10, 2013) Light Armored Reconnaissance Company Marines from 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit took on Marines from Alpha Battery, 13th MEU in an LAV pull event, which was one of a number of events that took place to celebrate the birthday of the Marine Corps, Nov. 10, 2013. Other events included a rock throw relay, tug-of-war, push up relay, stretcher carry relay and a tire flip relay. The 13th MEU is deployed with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. (USMC photo by SSgt. Matt.
