CAMP LEMONNIER, DJIBOUTI (Jan. 10, 2014) – U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Miguel Vazquez, an explosive ordnance technician assigned to Explosive Ordnance Detachment, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, uncovers a buried improvised explosive device (IED) during counter IED training at Camp Lemonnier, Jan. 10, 2014. Approximately 50 Marines assigned to Charlie Company, 13th MEU completed counter I ED training, which covered a wide variety of techniques to defeat enemy IEDs. The 13th MEU is deployed with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
