ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 24, 2014) – A U.S. Marine assigned to Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts a deck shoot aimed at moving targets aboard USS New Orleans (LPD 18), Jan. 24, 2014. This training event, using a target system designed by Combat Engineers attached to the unit, is the first-ever live-fire shoot involving moving targets on an amphibious ship. The 13th MEU is deployed with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
