U.S. Marine Corps Colonel Samuel L. Meyer (left), outgoing Commanding Officer of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is awarded the Legion of Merit by Lieutenant General George W. Smith Jr., I Marine Expeditionary Force Commanding General, during the 13th MEU Change of Command Ceremony at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Aug. 10, 2023. Colonel Samuel L. Meyer relinquished command of the 13th MEU to Colonel Stuart W. Glenn.
