Sergeant Abraham Alvarez, a squad leader for Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, Company F, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) interacts with the local population of Hit, Iraq, Dec. 4. Alvarez and his Marines frequently greeted families and locals of the city by saying hello and shaking hands. The 13th MEU (SOC) is currently serving in Iraq as part of their Western Pacific deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
