U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt. Jesus A. Lora/Released 050103-M-0000A-012.jpg

Range 201 at Camp Pendleton became a July 4th holiday as Marines from MMSG-13 and the Provost Marshal's Office trained with the MK141 pyrotechnic device that explodes in the air with a brilliant flash of light. The flash bang is used for diversionary purposes and produces no shrapnel, but is very effective with a blinding light and powerful concussion.
